HIGH SPEED SOLAR WIND • An unexpected high solar wind stream swept past Earth early on March 21 with the intensity of a Coronal Mass Ejection, setting the stage for elevated geomagnetic activity over the next few days. The Space Weather Prediction Centre at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a 72-hour G1 storm watch that will take effect at 5 p.m. MDT on Tuesday, March 21.
