HIGH SPEED SOLAR WIND 
•  An unexpected high solar wind stream swept past Earth early on March 21 with the intensity of a Coronal Mass Ejection, setting the stage for elevated geomagnetic activity over the next few days. The Space Weather Prediction Centre at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a 72-hour G1 storm watch that will take effect at 5 p.m. MDT on Tuesday, March 21.

INCOMING CME 
•  The impact from an Earth-directed coronal mass ejection (CME) is expected to combine with an already geoeffective high-density solar wind stream on Thursday, October 13, resulting in possible G1 (Minor) to G3 (Strong) geomagnetic storm activity. Due to potential incremental effects associated with the CME impact, this event is capable of generating active auroral displays across Canada. Peak storm activity is expected to occur in the evening and overnight on Thursday. The Space Weather Prediction Centre at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a 72-hour G1-G3 storm watch that will take effect at 5 p.m. MT on Wednesday, (October 12).

•  A recurrent coronal hole high speed solar wind stream that triggered G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storm conditions last month is expected to deliver a new wave of unsettled/stormy activity this week, possibly reaching G2 levels again on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a 72-hour storm watch that will take effect at 5 p.m. MT on Tuesday, September 27.
